Christmas and co

Oh my I can't believe that my last post 1 month ago is haha.. Swimming is so nice!!! It's still really, really rough and takes a lot of energy and time, but it just feels so good and I really like my team!
I swam my first meet last week, a 50 freestyle Relay.Nina,Sarah,Duda, Me ( in order), we lost hahah but it was fun! It feels really good to see, how you get better and improve every day! The coaches are nice but also really strict and they ask for disciplin or you can go. But I mean even when duda and me are getting better, we still need more breaks( but it really got less in the last weeks) than the other swimmers and sometimes the coaches push us so we're like dying but than we rest the next time a 50 or so. But just as I sad it feels so good to see how you get better and jesus, my muscles! I could not imagine to quit swimming because it gives me the chance to eat what I want and get not fat! Quite the opposite actually, I eat what I want and get thinner and especially more trained! I can't wait for Track season, I'll be in such a good shape! But we still have 2 months of swimming.
We have Christmas break now and me and my hostfamily are going on vacation. We're going to chicago for the first three days to celebrate christmas with Vicki's dad and aunt and after that we meet the rest of the family and drive up to wisonsin, skiing. I'm looking forward to see new places and especially to ski for my first time but it also annoys me that I won't be here for the whole break. I really want to do any fun stuff with my friends here and the really bad thing is that I'll miss a lot of swim practices and we're having a home meet the first day we get back to school (January 2)... Aunt Linda has an indoor pool, so I'll take my swim stuff with me and then I'm going to swim for maybe an hour a day and I'll try to make some dry land (yeah, we really call it dry land, that's weight lifting, fitness) stuff..We're coming back next Sunday and then I have like two days I can spend with my friends and then is new year's eve ahhhhhhhhhh!
Oh my New Year's eve in america..Poor me.. hahaha well I hope someone is giving a party or so, as long as I can hang out with friends I'm okay, but New Year's eve without partying and then spending it with your family?! Sorry, but no way! That would be too much for me,sorry...!
Well I hope you guys are all alright and have a great christmas break and a happy new year!!!

I miss you guys a lot but I could not imagine to leave the states now because I really love my family here and my friends and I just feel so sorry for my friends who have to go back to Germany now..I hope y'all had a great time in the States!
xx

Time runs...

Hey guys OMG it's been a long time since my last post.. I'm really sorry, but I am really busy here in america..
I got a cold 2 weeks ago and stayed home for 2 days but then after our long weekend ( veterans Day on Monday) I got sick again but I couldn't stay home because you really can't miss school unless you want to spend your evenings on homeowork and make up stuff...
Last Friday was our last Football game cause we lost it.. If we would have won we would play in Heinz Field ( Steeler's Football Stadium) next Saturday.. It was my best and saddest game. I had so much fun with my friends in the stands but when the game was over a lot of my friends were crying because of their last football game / marching band experience... It was really sad and I had tears in my eyes too because I realized how fast these months go over... In one month is christmas, then is a new year again and after New Years Eve I'll just have 6 months left and I really do not want to think about leaving my hostfamily and my friends...!!!
I had a really fun weekend though ! On Saturday morning I got a haircut ( just layered, like everytime ^^ but I decided to cut them to my shoulders next time! ) after my appointment my friend Breana picked me up and we went out for lunch and then to the mall. It was not a really succesfull shopping day for me, I was actually looking for some black pants/jeans but when everytime when I saw a pair they were between $80 and $100 bucks and then I thought I'll wait for black Friday and save more money for that shopping trip. I ended up getting a black leggings and a shirt and sweater from Hollister. After our shopping trip we went to Moe's where we met some of our friends ( Meg, Haley V-Zhang, Allie and some other girls ;)). After dinner we (the whole group) went to our school to watch the Thespians Play (Theatre) . It wasn't really crowded... I don't know yet what the musical will be like, but I thought it's also weird that almost no student  ( I mean there were some kids but the majority were parents; the auditorium wasn't even full) showed up...
After the play I had my first frozen yoghurt @ tcby and it was reeeeeaaaaaaaaaaallllyyy yummy! :)
On Sunday we had a 'meeting' with Kirsten, so her Exchange Student group. We had lunch at her house then we went bowling and after that ( I got 3rd place) we walked around the area and I bought myself a cosy christmas sweater from a second hand shop.
Mark picked me up at 4:45 because we had the XC Banquet at 6 . So we picked up the catering food and drove to the Murrysville Community Center.
The Banquet was really nice. Coach Pass was calling everyone to the front and we either got a certificate if it's our first year, 2nd, 3rd and one boy ( the best runner ) spent his 4th year on XC. So coach pass called everyone to the front and talked about the person who's in the front and he had really nice words for me and I almost started crying 'cause my team was yelling at me when he said : 'If I could talk German I would Congratulate Nele to her first XC Year' and ahhhh it was just so awesome.
After everyone got a certificate we have these Awards (best improved, best new runner, school record, best runner, etc.) for each gender. And I was sooooooo suprised that I got the Best New Runner award and it is such an honor to me that the coaches thought so and gave me this award. So I had to stand up again and he had still some more nice and funny words about me.
I'm really glad that he's the Track&Field (Leichtathletik) Coach because that is what I will do in spring... After Swimming!
Yeah and here's my new sport : Swimming! Today I had my first practice and HOLY COW IT'S SOOOOOO TOUGH!!!
And because I'm still sick my head felt sooooo bad!!!! I literally thought it'd explode because it hammered in my back head sooo bad :/ And my throat was really dry because of the chlorine water that I swallowed. I really have to learn how to breath because I'm really bad in freestyle ( kraulen).
But at least everyone said it's going to be better next week, because you're going used to it. So that means: practice EVERYDAY ( even on holidays or breaks) and Saturday mornings. 3 hours everyday... I'll be in a good shape for Track&Field!
Swimming ends in February (for me probably on the 13th) and I assume that T&F starts on February,18th! It's going to be a sporty year for me!!!
Alright that are the latest news from Pittsburgh. I hope you're all good and healthy and I wish you a nice upcoming Adventszeit!

xx

Kein Wasser

Yay !
